[Committee meeting] - Referral and self-referral
At the first plenary meeting of the year, held on January 20 in Paris, the members of the Ethics in Common Committee continued their observations on the current referral “Participatory science and research”, for which a Guidance will be published by September 2025.
The Committee also clarified the content of the framework text for the self-referral project on ethical issues related to research on and for adaptation to climate change. A webinar will be held on March 12, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, to discuss this framework text with staff from the four organisations, and collate any comments or questions they may have.
At the end of the meeting, Philippe Mauguin joined the Committee members for lunch, and took the opportunity to thank and praise Madeleine Akrich and Pere Puigdomenech, for their constant involvement in the Committee, as they have now have reached the end of their second term of office. Five new members will be appointed in the near future to complement and strengthen the current skills base.
The following meetings of the 2025 Committee will be held on March 17, May 19, June 30, September 15 and November 17 2025.
