On Monday 18 March 2024, the Ethics in Common Committee met for its final session under the chairmanship of Michel Badré and the vice-chairmanship of Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent.
The meeting was an opportunity to welcome Patrick du Jardin and Valérie Masson-Delmotte, the committee's future chair and vice-chair respectively.
During the meeting, the members approved the final version of Guidance no. 16 on the referral "Exploration, exploitation and preservation of pristine or minimally anthropised environments" and continued their work on the new referral on the ethical challenges of participatory science and research. They also took stock of recent years and discussed  the working practices of the committee.
The meeting was followed by a meal attended by Philippe Mauguin, Chairman and CEO of INRAE and Valérie Verdier, Chairman and CEO of IRD, who thanked Michel Badré and Bernadette Bensaude-Vincent for their commitment and work on the Ethics in Common committee, and welcomed Patrick du Jardin and Valérie Masson-Delmotte.
The next meeting of the Ethics Committee will take place on 14 May 2024 in Paris.
