Water, the very source of life on Earth, is today, more than ever, threatened by ever increasing human needs. The issues surrounding water are major and urgent and concern both its quality, with pollution issues caused in particular by agricultural, wine-growing and industrial activities, and its limited quantity and use, making it a key cause of highly competitive conflicts. Given this major challenge facing humanity, how can we develop a more integrated, more global and more respectful management of water in coastal areas?
